Pax Autocratica release date and Steam status

Pax Autocratica release date: launched into Steam Early Access on August 10, 2026. Dated status for reviews, price policy, multiplayer, and languages.

Pax Autocratica released on August 10, 2026, into Early Access on PC through Steam. It is developed and published by Multiverse. This page is the canonical status page for release state, the Early Access plan, the current review snapshot, price policy, and multiplayer status: other guides link here instead of restating these facts.

Current status at a glance

  • Release state: Early Access since August 10, 2026 (PC, Steam, Windows only).
  • Review snapshot: Very Positive, 92% of 1,882 Steam reviews, as of August 18, 2026.
  • Price policy: regional pricing; the price will increase when the game leaves Early Access.
  • Multiplayer: single-player only right now; co-op is planned during Early Access.
  • Languages: 5 (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German); full audio in English only.
  • Latest patch: Directive AG-14, August 15, 2026.

Each figure above is a dated snapshot. Check the live Steam store page for the numbers as they stand today.

The Early Access plan

The developers expect the Early Access period to last about two years, adjusted for development progress and player feedback. The current build already contains the full colony-to-combat loop, multiple soldier types, weapons, buildings, and cores.

Two commitments come straight from the Steam Early Access answers:

  • The price will increase when the game reaches its full release.
  • Co-op is a planned major feature for the Early Access period.

No full-release date has been announced. When one exists, it will appear on the Steam page first.

What the review snapshot means

As of August 18, 2026, Steam reports Very Positive, 92% of 1,882 reviews from Steam purchasers (2,011 reviews total including keys from other sources, of which 1,851 are positive and 160 negative). "Very Positive" is Steam's label for a sustained high positive ratio; it describes the whole Early Access period so far, not a weekly trend.

That number moves as reviews arrive. The review section of the Steam page always shows the live tally. For a longer explanation of what the label does and does not tell you, read the review guide.

Price policy

Pax Autocratica uses regional pricing, so the price you see depends on your Steam region. Two durable policy facts:

  • The developers have stated the price will increase at full release.
  • A launch discount ran at the start of Early Access. In the China region the snapshot on August 17, 2026 showed ¥106.00, discounted 17% to ¥87.98 until August 24, 2026. That is one region's snapshot, not a global price.

For every other region, the live price on the Steam store page is the only reliable figure. Do not treat any single region's price as the global price.

Multiplayer status

The game is single-player only at launch. Co-op is explicitly planned as a major feature during Early Access, according to the developers' Steam answers. No date has been attached to it yet. Until it ships, every guide on this wiki describes the single-player experience. The multiplayer guide tracks what is and is not available.

Languages and platform capabilities

Steam supports five languages (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, and German) with interface and subtitles in every one of them and full audio in English only. Confirmed August 18, 2026 via Steam's own appdetails API and the language table mirrored from Steam's metadata.

A note on how this page got here: an August 17 snapshot of the rendered store page appeared to show only two languages with full audio in both. That was a page-fetch artifact, not a store change: the API and Steam's structured language table both confirm the five-language list above. The API is the authority this wiki cites.

The game runs on Windows only. There is no macOS or Linux version, and no console release has been announced. Supported platform features include full controller support (Xbox and PlayStation controllers), Steam Cloud saves, and Steam Family Sharing. The game requires acceptance of a third-party end-user license agreement (the Pax Autocratica EULA) on first run.

System requirements

  • Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel i5-8600 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD RX 480 at 1080p (GTX 1070 8 GB / RX Vega 56 at 1440p), 40 GB free space.
  • Recommended: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super / AMD RX 5700 XT (8 GB VRAM), 40 GB free space.
  • Where these come from: the official site's support page publishes the resolution-tiered GPU list: the 1440p tier (GTX 1070 8 GB / RX Vega 56) and the AMD CPU equivalents appear there, not on Steam.
  • One open discrepancy: Steam lists DirectX 11; the official support page lists "DirectX: Version 12". Both are first-party listings that disagree as of August 17, 2026. Neither implies an upgrade path: treat DirectX 11 as the safer assumption and check the live Steam page before buying a GPU for this game.

The latest patch

The most recent patch is Directive AG-14, "State Maintenance," released August 15, 2026. It adds three advanced capture-pod types with higher capture odds against elites and bosses, temporary kill protection for enemies that resist capture, damage buffs to the Vortex Shell and Thunderbolt Arrow weapon cores, save-list sorting by creation time, a 16:10 resolution layout fix, and raider projectile effects polish.

Patch contents change frequently in Early Access. The Steam news feed is the authoritative record.

What has not been announced

A release date is not a roadmap. As of August 17, 2026, none of these have been announced: the full-release date, console versions, a final co-op release date, or post-launch pricing tiers. When the developers announce any of them, the Steam page and official channels come first, and this page follows.

How to check the current status

Use the Steam store page as the primary source: it carries the Early Access label, the live review summary, the current regional price, and the system requirements. Steam's news feed lists every patch. The official website, YouTube channel, and Discord add announcements and community context.

Prefer dated statements over undated ones. "Very Positive as of August 18, 2026" stays true forever; a bare "Very Positive" goes stale.

Sources and verification

  • Primary source: the official Steam store page for Pax Autocratica. Release date, Early Access answers, review summary, price display, languages, features, system requirements, and patch news.
  • Secondary: the official site's support page. Resolution-tiered GPU requirements (including the 1440p tier and AMD CPU equivalents), the DirectX 12 listing, and the support FAQ naming Discord as the quickest way to reach the developers. Checked August 17, 2026.
  • Also checked: the official YouTube channel and Discord invite, for identity and availability.
  • Verified Aug 17, 2026. Review count, language list, and price re-verified Aug 18, 2026 against Steam's appdetails API and the store page. The Reddit community link was blocked for automated checks; it is kept as an official community link but was not re-verified on that date.
