Pax Autocratica patch notes: every Directive explained

Pax Autocratica patch notes: the Directive log from AG-12 to ST-11 with dates, missing directive numbers explained, and demo-era updates from the feed.

This page tracks every Pax Autocratica patch announced through the official Steam news feed, from the August 10, 2026 Early Access launch through Directive ST-11 (September 11, 2026). Every entry below is summarized from the official announcement text; the Steam news page remains the authoritative record.

Early Access patch log

  • September 11, 2026: Directive ST-11. The largest post-launch maintenance directive, paired with a developer statement: stability work has priority until now, and the small team will now shift toward the bigger Early Access goals (deeper colony simulation, co-op, new systems), favoring fewer, larger updates over frequent small patches. Loading-process optimization (fixing stuck or failed loads); Resource Transfer Station level 2 unlocks drones that carry resources, with Ore Refinery and Wood Processing Plant output joining the transfer system (see the transfer station guide); batch dismantling for foundations and decorative buildings; soldier and Scourgeborn size adjustments and reworked soldier collision (allies block the Leader less, enemies are harder to shove through); the unlockable "Salute the Leader" interaction; an option to cancel soldiers' Paid Time Off; sleep and charge animations for mechanical soldiers. Combat: unsuitable enemy-leader affixes removed from Infested Nest battles, victory-chest drop placement improved, capture-failure invulnerability cut from 10 to 5 seconds, Void Detonation and Toxic Fog core effect improvements, a map-zoom scale setting, and Command Mode layout work. Balance: the shared allied-affix cooldown drops from 15 to 5 seconds, five named characters (Barbara Kosmos, Athena Thayer, Levia Brooks, Natalia Kandack, Miralisse Novarin) get combat-power increases, and Sector 3 battles gain an extra Shattered Core chest. Plus a long UI pass (hover soldier class details, merged pickup messages, ultrawide base visuals, controller tooltip and Steam Deck input fixes), lower VRAM usage, and fixes including the exit crash, the Sub-Healthy sudden-death bug, shotgun firing mid-reload, the Terminal Bastion: Descent scene-transition crash, and soldiers aging past adulthood. Known issue at release: some soldiers fail to salute after the Salute the Leader directive. The full thematic breakdown lives in the ST-11 feature guide.
  • September 10, 2026: Auroria Day #1. Not a patch: a one-month anniversary announcement. Completing the official loyalty questionnaire grants the Nebula Assault Rifle Aurorian Ceremonial Series commemorative skin and entry into a three-key Steam giveaway. It also featured a community base-design showcase and the start of a new Core Fragment brainstorm event. The skin comes from the questionnaire, not from a redeem code - the game has no code system.
  • August 28, 2026: unnumbered State Maintenance Directive. Improvements to "The Leader's Care" quest text (it now names the soldier), class-based sorting in Soldier Management and inventories, and better enemy spawn placement; fixes for allied tanks freezing during tank-escort battles, the Reproductive Allocation Facility being incorrectly occupied (perform one reproduction interaction to restore it), lingering piercing-bullet hit effects, and graphics settings not applying correctly, with further Low-settings performance gains.
  • August 27, 2026: Directive AG-27. Adds item selling to the Trading Post (sell unwanted or excess items to visiting merchant ships), an ESC-menu option to temporarily hide all HUD elements for cleaner screenshots and recordings, and an adjustment to the Sub-Healthy trait. This begins delivering the what's-next list from AG-25: the hide-HUD option and the first slice of the Trade Port update. Follow-ups are tracked in the roadmap guide.
  • August 25, 2026: Directive AG-25. A Colony Difficulty Customization screen (overall base work efficiency, time progression, stamina consumption, conflict behavior, and more); a broad base-performance pass (shadow costs on Medium and Low, soldier-animation memory, Foundations rendering, and a higher Foundations cap); victory-chest auto-collection of all map drops; auto-return of Greenhouse seeds and Animal Farm eggs; vehicle durability repair on rest planets; a kill-based skill-cooldown reset for the Frontal Thrust weapon core; higher activation priority for Revive Core; more Core Fragment chests and slower enemy spawns during ship appearances in Infested Nest battles; the Street Lamp cap raised from 50 to 999; Special Soldier work speed scaling with rarity; ship-flag customization in the Office; fixes for the Leader getting stuck after knockback or when exiting vehicles, for an ESC-exit crash, and for a Phantom Core combat memory leak; a Steam Deck virtual-keyboard fix; and many more fixes and stability improvements. The announcement's what's-next list (hide-HUD option, vehicle improvements, a broader Trade Port update, DX12 preloading) is tracked in the roadmap guide.
  • August 18, 2026: 100,000 players. Not a patch: a milestone announcement reporting 100,000 players and more than 500,000 wishlists eight days into Early Access, with a teaser for a custom colony settings panel that Directive AG-25 then shipped. Review-volume context lives in the review guide.
  • August 15, 2026: Directive AG-14. Three advanced capture-pod types with higher capture odds against elites and bosses; brief kill protection for enemies that resist capture (leader melee can still kill them); buffs to the Vortex Shell and Thunderbolt Arrow cores; improvements to the Scourgeborn Ravager's projectile and animation effects; save-list sorting; a 16:10 layout fix; another attempted fix for FSR-enabled crashes.
  • August 13, 2026: State of the Frontline. Not a patch but a developer status report: four high-priority work streams (capture depth, expedition variety, soldier controls, guidance clarity) plus an investigation list including co-op and mod support. See the roadmap guide.
  • August 12, 2026: Directive AG-12. Adds a soldier-aging toggle, exile for soldiers, automatic save backups, and manual deposit quantities; rebalances the Infested Nest; lowers soldier upgrade costs; fixes an FSR frame-generation crash in borderless windowed mode. Known issue at release: the V key did not open battle statistics.
  • August 11, 2026: unnumbered maintenance directive. Save-file fixes, tutorial battle model fixes, Sattleri Energist lightning-effects fixes, new male voice lines, and renaming for Special Creator Soldiers.
  • August 10, 2026: Early Access launch. Out-now announcement with the two-week 17% launch discount and the official roadmap image.

The missing directive numbers

The Steam news feed contains no AG-13 entry: between AG-12 (August 12) and AG-14 (August 15) sits only the August 13 status report. The numbering then jumps again: no AG-15 through AG-24 entry appears before AG-25 (August 25), and no AG-26 entry appears before AG-27 (August 27). The AG-1 through AG-11 numbers also never appear in the feed; they are most plausibly demo-era or internal numbering, but the feed does not say. After AG-27 the numbered series pauses: the August 28 post is unnumbered and the September 11 directive switches to a new ST- prefix. This page records what the feed actually contains and does not invent entries to fill the gaps.

Demo-era updates (June-August 2026)

Before Early Access, the demo received a steady cadence of updates and hotfixes announced on 2026-06-05, 06-14, 06-26, 07-01, 07-07, 07-21, 07-22, 07-27, 07-29, 08-01, and 08-02. Notable among them: the July 21 update turned Super Resolution off by default. The full texts are on the Steam news page.

How this page stays current

This page is recalibrated against the official feed after each announcement: summaries are replaced, not just appended, so outdated readings do not linger. Dated statements stay true; undated ones go stale.
